Most People Hear Their Assumptions
لوگ اکثر حقیقت نہیں، اپنے گمان سنتے ہیں
Most people do not hear only your words. They also hear their assumptions about you. Human beings interpret reality through memories, emotions, fears, and previous experiences. This is why the same sentence can be understood in different ways by different people.
A sincere suggestion may feel like criticism. Silence may be taken as arrogance. Kindness may be misunderstood as weakness. Many conflicts begin not because of what happened, but because of what people assumed happened.
The Qur’an says: “Avoid much suspicion. Indeed, some suspicion is sin.” Surah Al-Hujurat 49:12. This verse teaches social wisdom. Suspicion can damage relationships before facts are even known.
A mature person pauses before judging. He asks for clarity, listens carefully, and avoids building stories without evidence.
Reflection question: Am I reacting to reality or to a story in my mind?
